Simple Joys

One of my very favorite podcasts is the The Journeywoman Podcast .  At the end of each interview, the host, Hunter, asks what the individual's 3 simple joys are.  I just love it.  After a big conversation on sometimes difficult topics...Hunter brings it back to the simple things in life.  The things that matter most at that time to each person.  They can be small things like discovering a new coffee creamer or taking a nap or super important things like their children or taking the plunge on a big move  I often catch myself thinking too about my simple joys.  I love the practice of gratitude and I want to always bring this practice into my business and to this blog.

Simple Joys

This weekend, we celebrate my son, Evan's 7th birthday.  Celebrating this kid is so easy and so hard at the same time.  Do you have a kid who could care less about a party, about being sung to or even being with other kids?  I DO!  So we keep things very simple with him...because that is what he loves.  My joy lies in the little things light him up.  Yesterday, he received birthday money from his Ponchito (great grandma) and I could not contain himself...we had to go straight to target.  And we did.  Joy.

I find joy in the morning.  I love mornings and the stillness and peace of a new day.  Joy.

The book, The Artisan Soul by Erwin Raphael McManus.  This is a book for all and is bringing me so much joy right now.  I am rereading it and it is just as perfect and sweet as I remembered it the first time.  What I love is that I am reading it for the second time in a totally different place in life and it is hitting me in new ways!

What are your Simple Joys today?
