Tip #5 Be Honest with Yourself
Purging is something I have to do on regular basis. It isn't a spring cleaning gig...it's more like..."Are you here to live another day?...Ok, time to purge." Being in a small space has made me VERY INTENTIONAL! I love this about living in our home among countless other things. I am mindful of all the things that come in and go out. My creativity flourishes in this small space.
Not all of you have small spaces. Some of you have 3000+ square feet of lots of small spaces in one big home. Still....be honest with yourself. Be intentional. Be mindful. Fight the good fight to keep in your home only what serves a purpose or means something to you.
Whether your clutter is right in front of your face or behind a closet door, it is there and you will eventually have to face it. Fact. Face it now when you can keep emotions out and you are not in desperation.
Take baby steps and bring one laundry basket with you. Block out 20 minutes of your day. Go to your space and fill the laundry basket. It will probably take less that 20 minutes to fill your basket...so maybe bring 2. Take your basket to your local organization that accepts donations. In my area, we have North GA co-op, St. Vincent de Paul and Goodwill....all have drive thru drop offs. There is no excuse.
Be honest with yourself and get started.
